According to the Department of Rural Economics (Deral), the condition of the soybean crop in Parana declined slightly this week due to dryness in the northwestern part of the state.

Deral reported that 92% of the soybeans in Parana are rated in good condition compared to 99% last week. The soybeans are rated 8% average compared to 1% last week. The 2024/25 soybeans in Parana are 99% planted, 3% germinating, 59% in vegetative development, 27% flowering, and 11% filling pods.

The dryness thus far has caused isolated concernes, but no significant problems statewide. The forecast is calling for rainfall this week in the dryer areas of the state and if the rains verify, the soybeans should continue developing normally.

The state of Parana is one of the three principal soybean producing states in Brazil and Deral is estimating the state will produce a record 22.4 million tons of soybeans in 2024/25. Deral will issue a new monthly soybean production estimate on December 5th.
